Join Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) and help build something meaningful from the ground up. We are seeking a foundational member for our newly established Platte Crossing Counseling Center in Commerce City, CO, dedicated to expanding access to high-quality behavioral health services for Adams County residents. Services are provided both in person and via telehealth based on client needs.

About the Role

The ideal candidate is passionate about community mental health, enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults, and is excited to help shape a new clinic's culture, processes, and growth. Experience providing therapy across age groups and/or supporting individuals with substance use concerns is highly valued. Bilingual Spanish-speaking clinicians are strongly encouraged to apply.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Starts on-site full time; may transition to a telehealth day as client demand grows

Pay

Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) and prorated for fewer hours. Compensation varies by licensure, experience, and company equity, paid bi-weekly:

  • Licensed Therapist (LCSW, LPC, LMFT): $66,512.16 - $91,016.64 per year
  • Licensed Psychologist: $99,493.68 - $118,627.08 per year

Bilingual Language Differential Pay: $3,000 per calendar year (prorated by hire date and FTE), paid bi-weekly, for employees who pass a language assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate recovery and optimal quality of life for clients with behavioral health concerns through clinical services, case management, and education
  • Create and implement consistent treatment plans from intake to closure
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments, individual, family, and/or group therapy
  • Develop and monitor treatment plans, updating at required intervals
  • Consult with internal and external professionals to coordinate care
  • Provide clinical case-management and crisis intervention as needed
  • Deliver comprehensive clinical services to decrease symptoms and improve quality of life
  • Assist clients in evaluating strengths, symptoms, and setting personal goals
  • Teach coping skills and offer consultation to community partners
  • Ensure up-to-date billing information and seek insurance authorization as required
  • Write reports and correspondence with appropriate releases
  • Complete credentialing activities with third-party payers
  • Monitor and coordinate care for assigned clients in partnership with their care team

Requirements

  • Master's degree in human services (for Licensed Therapist) or Doctorate in psychology (for Licensed Psychologist)
  • At least two years of clinical experience, including individual, family, and/or group therapy
  • Professional licensure: LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or Licensed Psychologist (PhD, PSYD) — or equivalent out-of-state licensure with intent to transfer to Colorado within 30 days of hire
  • Knowledge of clinical theories, evidence-based practices, and DSM-V
  • Ability to learn and use an electronic health record proficiently
  • Solid understanding of mental illness and treatment modalities within a multidisciplinary approach
  • Ability to respond effectively to all client presentations and crisis situations
  • Strong documentation skills for client interactions and agency communications

Qualifications

Required Vaccination and TB Test: Annual influenza vaccination and a negative TB test result are required before the first day of work. Medical and religious exemptions may be requested.
