About the role

This position provides high-quality customer service in a broad variety of activities including Life Insurance products and general banking needs in branch and at offsite events. The Licensed Retail Banking Representative identifies customers or potential customers for an in-depth financial review with the dedicated Financial Advisor.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of opening and maintaining a variety of accounts in accordance with Bank policy and procedures.
  • Proactively present and cross-sell Bank products, through probing questions and offering appropriate products and services based on customer responses.
  • Participate in Bank promotions and sales campaigns to achieve Branch performance metrics.
  • Set up a table and hand out information when necessary for off-site sales calls and branch networking.
  • Resolve customer complaints regarding sales, service, or account issues.
  • Maintain correspondence with customers and back office by following up to ensure resolution.
  • Greet customers in a professional manner that creates a welcoming environment.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of specific Bank products and services while matching those products and services to individual customer needs.
  • Review and verify all previous days' work to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies that may exist; including but not limited to general ledger accounts.
  • Approve checks (up to authorized limit) using knowledge of account history and account information on file, to make decisions on whether to cash.
  • Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs could be met by specific bank products including but not limited to Life products and services.
  • Meet assigned deposit and NDIP sales goals on a quarterly basis which include, but are not limited to, number of accounts opened, new customer contacts, units sold, referrals to Financial Advisor, investment/investment revenue goal and dollar value of all products sold as assigned by the Investment Program Manager and/or Branch Manager.
  • Perform all RBR duties such as issuance of official checks, accepting payment for rental of safe deposit boxes, processing deposits/withdrawals, cashing checks, loan payments, etc.
  • Aid other RBR's in balancing daily transactions, verifying tickets, and daily balancing of the teller area.
  • Help RBR's with complex work-related matters (i.e., check cashing).
  • Research and investigate customer claims in matters relating to transaction discrepancies, in order to help resolve issues for customers in a timely manner.
  • Perform RBR functions as assigned.
  • Avoid unauthorized access to customer information.
  • Assist Officers in performing various Branch functions and Branch reports, as requested.
  • Render priority services to customers in need of special handling.
  • Perform various related clerical duties as directed.
  • Know and comply with investment guidelines and regulatory requirements, including continuing education and certifications.
  • Knowledge and use of the Bank's Redi system to keep current with updates to policy and procedures.
  • Knowledge of banking procedures, regulations, and all Branch related functions and terminal systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have or be able to obtain state life and health insurance licenses within three (3) months of start date as well as maintain those licenses through continuing education.
  • Three years of branch operations experience and strong aptitude for sales.
  • Must be flexible to work and/or transfer throughout the network, on an as needed basis.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with prospective and existing customers.
  • Strong knowledge of banking procedures, regulations, and all Branch related functions and terminal systems.

Pay

The starting hourly salary for this role is between $22.00 – $31.00. The actual hourly pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferrable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.

Schedule

Effective February 18, 2025, employees in office-based positions will be working a Hybrid work schedule consisting of three days or more, on-site per week, Monday - Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence.
