About the Role

The Licensed Psychologist within the Psychiatric Practices is responsible for maintaining standards of professional and ethical practice in the provision of therapeutic services. They deliver a full range of inpatient and/or outpatient services to individuals and groups impacted by behavioral health issues (addiction/substance use and mental health), recognizing the role of trauma in development and adjustment. The psychologist demonstrates a warm, empathic, and hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery, and is trained in trauma-informed care to provide services in a sensitive and responsive environment.

The Licensed Psychologist reports to the Assistant Director of Adult Psychiatric Practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group, marital, and family counseling in alignment with contractual agreements.
  • Complete diagnostic intake assessments to ensure medical necessity is present, in a timely manner, and provide appropriate referrals based on client needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans within expected time frames, consistent with evidence-based practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide consultations to Freeman’s Inpatient facilities as required or directed.
  • Provide and interpret psychological testing in accordance with the scope of their credentials.
  • Offer consultation and education to intra-agency and community groups and institutions on behavioral health topics, as approved by the Chief Administrative Officer.
  • Provide crisis services for patients during regular daytime operations.
  • Adhere to system quality and documentation standards as identified by accrediting agencies, Center and program policies and procedures, and local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Regularly collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of providers within Psychiatric Practices and other program components of the Center.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must hold at least a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology or a related field.
  • Licensed Psychologist in the State of Missouri.

Physical Requirements

  • Normal office environment with prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to remain calm during stressful events, occasionally work irregular hours, and work with exasperated individuals.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • TB test required upon hire.
