About the role
The Adult Outpatient Clinic is seeking a qualified Therapist to handle intake assessments, deliver mental health care, and provide resources to patients based on their individual needs.
Responsibilities
- Provides counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to clients and families using evidence-based interventions as appropriate per diagnosis and session content.
- Prepares treatment plans, biopsychosocial assessments, discharge plans, required screenings, and follow-up care programs in compliance with governing and regulatory bodies.
- Provides therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as required.
- Completes assessments, treatment plans, reassessments, and progress notes within required timeframes.
- Participates in crisis assessments, interventions, referrals, and follow-up services.
- Ensures documentation, authorizations, and required signatures are complete and current.
- Collects patient data through interviews, case histories, and observational techniques; evaluates data to identify causes of problems and determine therapeutic approaches or referrals.
- Provides casework management of a specialized caseload, including research, case assessments, and preparation of individualized studies for admission, placement, or discharge.
- Arranges for therapeutic interventions for patients or clients in crisis or with serious disturbance problems.
- Follows up to determine reliability and validity of treatment; recommends modifications to services and service delivery.
- Consults with legal and treatment agencies regarding patient/client records, rights, and responsibilities.
- Collaborates with other therapists and related professional/paraprofessional staff; refers clients to appropriate service agencies as needed.
- Maintains licensure, attends required training and staff meetings, and upholds agency policies and professional standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, counseling education, human services, or a related field.
- Active Georgia license to provide mental health services (LPC, LAPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.).
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse communities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Office Products.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-4+ years of clinically supervised counseling, assessment, and crisis intervention experience.

Final pay rate will be dependent on a combination of qualifications such as experience and education. At this time, CSB of Middle Georgia will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
