About the role
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides services in accordance with company policies and Georgia State Regulations. They prepare clinical and progress notes, assist the physician and the registered nurse, prepare equipment and materials for treatment, and assist clients in learning appropriate self-care techniques. The LPN also provides nursing care to assigned clients under the direction of the Director of Nursing.
Essential Duties
- Provides direct nursing care, personal care, treatment, staff relief, and administration of medications to assigned clients under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Complies with infection control standard precautions and safety instructions.
- Documents in the clinical record accurately, clearly and concisely, and follows company policy for timely submission.
- Reports changes in client needs and physical/mental status to the Director of Nursing or RN on duty.
- Provides accurate information to skilled nursing professionals involved in the total care of the client.
- Establishes and maintains effective interpersonal relationships with clients and significant others, nursing staff, medical staff, and other disciplines.
- Performs technical skills safely and according to accepted procedures.
- Maintains CPR certification and demonstrates the abilities to initiate emergency measures.
- Responds in a swift manner to emergency situations.
- Keeps current with CEUs as required by state regulations.
- Follows established lines of communication and authority.
- Complies with attendance policy and adheres to established dress code.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with the State Board of Nursing.
- Meet all requirements of state regulatory agencies and Board of Nursing.
- Must meet all continuing education hours and education requirements.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
- Minimum six months’ work experience as a LPN in home care or skilled nursing facility.
- Experience in home care or related health care field preferred.
Other Qualities

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- This job may require lifting of objects that exceed 30 lbs., with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of squatting or standing.
- Prolonged periods of stooping or kneeling.
- Prolonged periods of pushing and/or pulling.
