About the role

Provide direct nursing services to clients and function as a key member of a team of social workers, nurses, support staff, and medical providers responsible for safe and quality client care in substance abuse programs.

Responsibilities

  • Administer TB tests and read results.
  • Provide general health information regarding TB/Hepatitis/HIV.
  • Carry out physician/medical provider’s treatment orders.
  • Coordinate health information exchange with primary care physicians and psychiatrists, in accordance with client privacy laws.
  • Complete and maintain all required documentation related to client services on time, accurately, and per policy and procedures.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences of clients, coworkers, and community.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individuals in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
  • Background check clearance required.
  • Nursing license in good standing in the State of Illinois required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience required.
  • Experience in substance abuse or mental health field preferred.
  • Experience using Electronic Health Record preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organization, presentation, and PC/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
