Schedule
- Typical shift: 7 AM – 7 PM, three days a week including every other weekend
- Shift differential for evening and weekends
About the Role
Provide direct nursing care to assisted living residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with state and federal standards.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment
- Assist with the evaluation of residents' needs
- Assist with planning resident care based on MD orders
- Implement resident care based on MD orders
- Evaluate care and communicate with MD for updates of orders (PRN)
- Ensure residents receive their medicine at the prescribed time by MD order
- Monitor blood glucose, temperature, and blood pressure
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transfer, ambulation, and toileting
- Ensure CNAs are following MD orders
Requirements
- Currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- CPR certified
- One year of long-term care experience desirable
- Med/Surg or home health experience helpful
- Experience working with the handicapped, developmentally disabled, or older adults preferred
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Physical activities: manual dexterity, lifting up to 40 lbs., standing, stooping, grasping, pushing, kneeling, reaching
- Sensory and communicative activities: feeling, smelling, hearing, speaking, seeing, tasting
- Exposure to: inside environmental conditions, bloodborne pathogens, physical hazards using equipment, respiratory hazards
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
