Licensed Practical Nurse (PRN)

Promises / The Ranch TN is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to join our team in Dickson, TN. This position supports one of the trusted behavioral health programs within the Advanced Recovery Systems family, which includes Promises Behavioral Health, The Right Step, and The Ranch. Our organization is committed to expanding access to high-quality, evidence-based addiction and mental health care.

Responsibilities

• Meets with new clients and assists in completing the medical and health assessment/questionnaire
• Coordinates with attending physicians to ensure all admission orders are addressed and appropriate ancillary assessments and services are provided
• Completes client treatment plan documentation, including nursing assessments, transcription of MD and NP phone orders, medication administration, client progress, and inclusion of physical health services
• Directs patient care, reports observed changes in mental status and/or physical condition, responds to emergencies, and addresses safety risks
• Provides ongoing patient education on detox, recovery, medications, and other health issues
• Reconciles QA client medication sheets to ensure appropriate medication administration and oversees proper medication destruction
• Reconciles pharmacy orders daily
• Assists with the development and implementation of a quality assurance program and trains staff in infection control, nursing, pharmaceutical, ancillary, and laboratory services
• Attends treatment planning conferences and professional staff meetings
• Available for 24-hour coverage for consultation and emergencies

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience
• Valid Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the state of employment
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent customer care and communication skills
• At least 2 years' experience in substance abuse/recovery programs preferred
• CPR/First Aid Certification required (must be obtained within the state mandated time frame if not certified at time of hire)
