Licensed Practical Nurse - Oregon State Hospital Salem Campus
Opportunity to assist in determining and providing medical/psychiatric nursing care and treatment for patients at Oregon State Hospital, under the supervision of the RN. This role involves providing nursing care to patients who are elderly, have behavioral illness or histories, and are physically compromised. Additionally, the position assists in maintaining a safe, secure environment and contributes to the therapeutic milieu.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care and treatment to patients with medical and psychiatric needs.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment.
- Support the maintenance of a therapeutic milieu for patients.
- Work with patients who may present a danger to themselves or others.
- Frequently move up to 20 pounds and occasionally move up to 60 pounds vertically.
- Perform prolonged standing, bending, twisting, and squatting.
- Adapt to schedule changes with little notice, including overtime or double shifts.
- Occasionally drive or accompany patients in vehicles.

Working Conditions

Schedule
- Hospital Wide Float Pool.
- Thursday – Sunday Day Shift: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
Pay
Salary range: $5,709 - $6,849 per month. The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying range. If the successful candidate qualifies for PERS, the salary range will increase by 6.95%.
