About the role
You will assist in determining and providing medical and psychiatric nursing care and treatment for patients at Oregon State Hospital under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This involves delivering care to elderly patients, individuals with behavioral illnesses or histories, and those who are physically compromised. The position also contributes to maintaining a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment.
Working Conditions
- Provides care for patients who may present a danger to themselves or others.
- Potential exposure to infectious diseases, noise, bodily fluids, hazardous medications, behavioral interventions, and manual or mechanical restraints.
- Frequently moves up to 20 pounds; occasionally moves up to 60 pounds vertically.
- Requires prolonged standing, bending, twisting, and squatting.
- Schedules may change with little notice and may include overtime or double shifts.
- Occasional driving or accompanying patients in vehicles may be required.
Requirements

- Must satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug test.

Schedule
Hospital Wide Float Pool • Thursday – Sunday • Day Shift: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay
$5,709 – $6,849 per month. The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying range; if the successful candidate qualifies for PERS, the range will increase by 6.95%.
