Licensed Practical Nurse - Neurosurgery - day shift

Responsibilities

• Affords assistance in data collection for patient assessments.
• Delivers personalized nursing care in coordination with the Registered Nurse to address the unique needs of patients holistically.
• Administers appropriate nursing interventions aligned with the Plan of Care and clinical standards, integrating the Physician’s medical plans of care.
• Conducts Hourly Rounds in accordance with Service Excellence Standards.
• Fosters a compassionate and respectful environment for patients, families, and visitors.
• Utilizes appropriate health and safety equipment to safeguard both patients and staff.
• Carries out tasks related to central lines, Foley catheters, pressure ulcers, restraints, and fall-risk patients according to standard work procedures.
• Participates in proactive problem-solving initiatives.
• Collaborates with the Registered Nurse to contribute to departmental growth and performance using Evidence-Based Practices.
• Demonstrates continuous professional development by setting personal goals and engaging in educational opportunities.
• Performs other duties as directed by supervisors.

  Required Education/Licensure

  • Must hold a valid South Carolina or compact (multi-state) Practical Nurse License (LPN).
  • Must have completed Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Must successfully complete Medical Terminology and Basic Computer Courses.
