The Opportunity
The ConvenientMD team is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide high-quality patient care in our urgent care clinics. This role involves conducting patient triage, assisting with exams, performing clinical procedures, engaging with patients, and supporting clinic operations.
Your Impact
- Patient Care & Triage: Take vital signs, document medical history, perform observational examinations, and identify immediate healthcare needs.
- Aid in Patient Exams: Prepare necessary equipment and documentation, support providers during testing and procedures, and execute point-of-care tests.
- Perform Clinical Procedures: Conduct diagnostic and testing procedures, including vision, hearing, drug screens, breath alcohol testing, spirometry, and more. Execute point-of-care tests like strep, flu, RSV, SARS-CoV-2, glucose, lipid panel, and urinalysis. Provide cardiac and airway management, including ECGs, AED use, nebulizer treatments, and oxygen administration. Deliver wound care assessments, immunizations, and medication administration.
- Document Patient Information: Maintain accurate electronic medical records, document patient histories and treatment details, observe and report changes in patients' conditions, and take necessary action as needed.
- Clinic Operations: Ensure medical instruments and equipment are clean, sterilized, and maintained according to organizational policies, and maintain a stocked and sterile workspace to support smooth clinic operations.
- Collaborate with Clinical Team: Work closely with other members of the clinical team to coordinate patient care, communicate patient information and updates effectively, and welcome and support the training of new team members.
Required Availability
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts in consecutive and/or non-consecutive days:
- Full-time: Three (3) 12-hour shifts a week with at least four (4) shifts a month on a Saturday or Sunday.
- Part-time: Two (2) 12-hour shifts per week with at least two (2) shifts a month on a Saturday or Sunday.
- Per diem: Four (4) 12-hour shifts per month, ideally working one (1) shift each week.
- Must be flexible to work nights, weekends, holidays.
- If needed, must be able to work at a minimum of three (3) other ConvenientMD locations within a one (1) hour travel distance from your primary clinic.
- Required to travel for training shifts which may occur outside of your primary clinic within a one (1) hour commute.
Who You Are
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: State licensed practical nurse (LPN) with prior experience placing and monitoring IVs. For Maine and New Hampshire only, must be IV certified.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification.
- Character: Compassionate, authentic, and patient-focused; proactive and confident communicator (written and verbal); trustworthy; effective communicator and cross-collaborator; excellent team player; technically savvy.
Bonus Qualifications
- One to two (1-2) years of patient triage experience in an urgent care or emergency department preferred.
