Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Surgical Unit
Assist in providing direct quality patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Participates in the assessment of patients. Assists in developing, implementing and evaluating/revising the plan of care. Attends educational programs and staff orientation which promote professional development. Develops leadership role within the LPN scope of practice. Participates in Service Excellence Program.
Requirements
- LPN Diploma
- Active NC LPN License or compact state
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Exposure and practice of medication administration from educational preparation and student clinical practice
Pay
LPN I hourly range: $22.42 - $32.68. Final compensation is determined on career ladder placement (LPN I - III).
Schedule
This position is full-time (36 hours/week) night shift with rotating weekends and holidays.

The hospital has earned national designation as a Primary Stroke Center and includes a 16-bed emergency department serving approximately 25,000 patients per year. Additional services include the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center (offering chemotherapy and radiation therapy), general medical and surgical services, operative services, a women’s birthing center, rehabilitation services, and outpatient clinics.
