Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at St. Francis Family Medical Practice is responsible for delivering patient care under the direction of the physician. This role involves implementing the plan of care, preparing and assessing patients for provider visits, and assisting in various clerical or administrative duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

• Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare team members to meet patient/family needs
• Implements the plan of care by providing direct basic nursing care in accordance with the LPN scope of practice
• Accurately labels and packages specimens, as trained
• Auxiliaries in providing indirect care through various clerical or administrative duties as assigned by the registered nurse
• Absorbs as a chaperone for healthcare providers during patient examinations as requested
• Aids providers with procedures, treatments, and interventions
• Performs other duties as assigned

Certifications & Experience

• Active state Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure or LPN applicant
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
• One year of clinical patient care experience (preferred, not required)

Skills & Abilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to all ages of patients
• Learns and uses a computer-based patient appointment scheduling and registration system
• Works in a fast-paced environment with a team
• Displays strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills
