Essential Duties And Job Responsibilities
- Basic Nursing Care: Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record vital signs like temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respirations.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed by a physician, following facility protocols and under the supervision of an RN.
- Wound Care: Perform wound care, including changing dressings and monitoring for signs of infection.
- Hygiene and Mobility: Assist residents with personal hygiene, dressing, bathing, and mobility.
- Nutrition and Hydration: Ensure residents receive proper nutrition and hydration, assisting with feeding if necessary.
- Patient Monitoring: Patient History: Record a patient's history and current condition. Observation: Observe and document changes in a resident's condition, reporting any concerns to the RN. Communication: Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaboration and Supervision: RN Supervision: Work under the supervision of an RN, following their guidance and instructions. CNA Supervision: Supervise certified nursing assistants (CNAs) in providing basic nursing care.
- Other Duties: Patient Safety: Maintain a safe environment for residents, following infection control protocols and other safety guidelines. Documentation: Accurately document all care provided, including medications administered, vital signs, and any observations. Emotional Support: Provide emotional support and comfort to residents and their families.
Requirements
- Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an LPN in this state.
- Maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment.
- Prefer experience in long term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute and or critical care clinical setting.
- Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
