Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): PRN
Roxbury Treatment Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc., has been a beacon of hope and healing for over 35 years, serving those struggling with behavioral health and substance use issues. Located in Shippensburg, PA, our 112-bed behavioral health facility offers acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation services for adults as well as an adolescent inpatient psychiatric program for youth ages 13-17. We also have two substance use disorder outpatient offices in Carlisle and Chambersburg.
About the role
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Roxbury Treatment Center. The Licensed Practical Nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit under the direction of the Nurse Manager or DON.
Responsibilities
- Monitors and documents patient condition and interventions provided, reporting findings to the unit Charge Nurse/RN
- Monitors Nursing and Clinical Care plans and participates in Treatment Team meetings as necessary
- Provides supportive counseling and patient education
- Facilitates medication administration activities in accordance with safe medication practices, including patient education
- Responds to all crisis/emergency events to direct staff and ensure patient safety
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited licensed practical nursing program
- Licensure and registration by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners as a licensed practical nurse
- One year prior experience in D&A and/or mental health nursing preferred but not required
- Must work (4) 12-hour shifts per month
