Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
  • Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
  • May administer medication and documents patient care given.
  • Aids in the development of the plan of care.
  • Aids patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Maintains patient records and communicates patient status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
  • Schedules appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
  • Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved practical nursing program.
  • Current LPN/PN to practice in the Commonwealth of TN and be in good standing with the Board of health Professions.
  • Certifications: BCLS within 30 days of hire/transfer.
