About the role

Provides professional nursing care under the direction of a provider. Duties include:

  • Administering prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Coordinating patient care activities.
  • Assisting providers during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing.
  • Observing, recording, and reporting patient conditions and reactions.
  • Scheduling appointments and prioritizing patients in emergencies.
  • Greeting patients, preparing them for exams, and collecting health histories.
  • Documenting patient information in charts.
  • Instructing patients on sample collection and test preparation.
  • Responding to patient inquiries and complaints.
  • Maintaining exam rooms and ensuring cleanliness.
  • Preparing lists of medical supplies and labeling pathology specimens.
  • Performing quality control and maintaining records on lab testing.

Responsibilities

Essential duties include:

  • Working within specified hours.
  • Communicating effectively with others, hearing, understanding, and distinguishing speech and other sounds.
  • Maintaining confidentiality.
  • Coordinating work flow with other team members.
  • Complying with safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards.

Requirements

Qualifications include:

  • An active license in the state of practice for LPNs.
  • Visual acuity adequate for the job.
  • The ability to communicate effectively.
