Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN or LVN) - Part Time/PRN

About the role

NaphCare is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses to join our team of medical professionals in Grand Junction, Colorado, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for individuals currently incarcerated in the Mesa County Jail. Part‑time and PRN positions are available.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, interview patients about current health problems and medication history
• Take vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weight
• Provide wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injured areas
• Administer medication, including injections, and monitor reaction to meds
• Maintain medical records, entering information into the electronic health record (TechCare)
• Observe patient health and mental health status
• Provide emergency first aid
• Provide patient education and discharge/release planning

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Actively state‑certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
• Possess an active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association required)
• Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
• Display integrity, professionalism, and adhere to a Code of Conduct; comply with facility correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
• Pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening
• Physical capabilities: ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift

Pay

Pay rates range from $36.00 to $38.00 per hour, plus a $6.00 shift differential for night shifts.
