Job Summary

Provides rehabilitative nursing care for pediatric patients and their families under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents nursing care within LPN scope of practice and hospital policies and procedures.
• Notifies Nurse Manager and/or Charge Nurse of responsibilities and/or changes in patient status.
• Takes appropriate action including recording and reporting.
• Understands the importance of the interdisciplinary process.
• Promotes continuity of nursing care and interdisciplinary interventions.
• Participates in patient and family education under supervision of RN.
• Recognizes and respects patient and family rights in a culturally and religiously sensitive environment of care.
• Requests guidance from Manager, RN, and other resources when appropriate.
• Consistently appraises clinical performance and learning needs through self‑evaluation.
• Exhibits consistent professional behavior and is accountable for actions with regard to professional issues.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Minimum of one year nursing experience with rehabilitation and/or pediatric experience preferred.
• Per diem candidates require at least one year of pediatric nursing experience.
• Evidence of interpersonal skill and ability to collaborate with others.
• American Heart Association BLS Provider Certification required.
• Current New Jersey LPN license.

Physical Demands

• Pediatric inpatient care areas.
• Physical stamina and ability to safely lift and move objects and people.

Working Environment

• Contact with medications, chemicals, and equipment.
• Continual contact with patients, families, visitors, and all hospital departments and staff.

Pay

Hourly wage range: $30.04 – $36.86 per hour (New Jersey). The compensation offered will depend on the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.

Schedule

Full‑time, Night shift (Hourly).
