Responsibilities
- Under RN supervision, assess patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions in both the Health Care Unit and housing units, contributing to individualized treatment planning and consulting with RNs and staff as needed.
- Implement treatment programs directed by Health Care Practitioners, administering medications (including IV therapy if certified) and performing diagnostic tests according to established protocols.
- Collaborate in controlled substance counts at the beginning of each shift, adhere to safety techniques and standard precautions, and respond to codes or health emergencies within standard guidelines.
- Assist in medical or minor surgical procedures, implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans, and document nursing encounters using SOAP charting.
- Ensure effective communication with nursing staff, physicians, and other relevant personnel.
- Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, demonstrating commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurse within the state of employment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinic experience preferred.
