Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process while delivering care to patients admitted to the nursing unit under the direction of the RN, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse
- Provide direct patient care to medically complex and/or critically ill patients requiring extended hospitalization
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of medical professionals (Respiratory Therapists, Physical Therapists, Case Managers, Dietitians, Speech Language Pathologists, and more) to assist in carrying out individualized care plans
- Gather and report data, carry out orders, and perform therapeutic procedures on patients in an age and population-appropriate manner
- May perform other related duties as assigned or requested
Requirements
- Current unrestricted LPN License in the state you are applying
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS Certification required within 90 days of hire (reimbursement provided). Must be active Day 1 for all Charge, High Observation, and ICU roles
Qualifications
- One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required
- Prior experience in emergency or critical care environments preferred
- Higher comfort level working with vents/trachs/PICC lines, etc. preferred
- Two years of experience in direct patient care preferred
