Responsibilities
- Supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.
- Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
- Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care; may administer medication.
- Documents patient care provided.
- Aids in the development of the plan of care.
- Aids patients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Assists RN with communication of patient status and responses to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and family.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
- Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Patient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.
- Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record.
- Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements.
- Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present for all employees.
- Physical Hazards: Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.

What Are We Looking For
- Education/License: Graduate of accredited school of nursing, Current LPN license in state of practice, BCLS required.
- Other Certifications: Handle with Care preferred.
