About the role

This position provides direct patient care, ongoing instructions and reinforcement of education and care plans, and general clinical support under the direction or supervision of the patient’s physician or LIP/RN designee.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services to all age populations in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individuals served.
  • Aid the registered nurse and/or provider through data collection concerning the physical, psychological, social, and cultural dimensions of patients according to practice standards and institutional policy/procedure.
  • Organize and prioritize nursing care activities considering the needs of the patients and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Implement age-appropriate interventions based on individual patient’s needs as directed by the registered nurse/provider.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of care given in progressing patients toward desired outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing instructions and reinforcement of education and care plans developed by the Provider/RN based on documented health and education needs and the condition and age of the patient.
  • Ensure a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
  • Assume responsibility for professional development of self and contribute to and assist with the professional development of others.
  • Deliver patient care in a manner that demonstrates teamwork.

Requirements

Education: Graduated from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program.

No experience required.

Licensure: Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia prior to onboarding. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. May require a valid Virginia Driver's License (VADL).

Qualifications

  • Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs.
  • Exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The pay range for this role is $23.29 - $37.26 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
