What You Will Do
- Dispense methadone and other prescribed medications in accordance with physician orders and clinic policies
- Monitor clients for treatment response, including signs of withdrawal, intoxication, or adverse reactions, and communicate concerns promptly
- Perform required patient assessments and document patient condition as appropriate
- Accurately document dosing, assessments, and clinical interactions in the Electronic Health Record and Methasoft system
- Maintain accurate counts, reconciliation, and secure storage of controlled substances in compliance with DEA and State Board of Pharmacy requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant medication dispensing area
- Collaborate with the Medical Director, Physician, and Clinical Program Director to support coordinated medical care
- Participate in required staff training, quality improvement activities, and program meetings
- Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards at all times
- Adapt to clinic schedules, dosing windows, and patient care needs
- Perform other nursing duties as assigned to support medical operations
Requirements
- Current licensure in the State of New Mexico as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or medical clinic settings preferred
- Strong documentation, typing, and data entry skills; ten-key experience preferred
- Willingness to train in State of the Heart Recovery's Electronic Health Record and medication management systems
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and strict confidentiality
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety and accuracy
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with medical and clinical teams
