What You Will Do

  • Dispense methadone and other prescribed medications in accordance with physician orders and clinic policies
  • Monitor clients for treatment response, including signs of withdrawal, intoxication, or adverse reactions, and communicate concerns promptly
  • Perform required patient assessments and document patient condition as appropriate
  • Accurately document dosing, assessments, and clinical interactions in the Electronic Health Record and Methasoft system
  • Maintain accurate counts, reconciliation, and secure storage of controlled substances in compliance with DEA and State Board of Pharmacy requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant medication dispensing area
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director, Physician, and Clinical Program Director to support coordinated medical care
  • Participate in required staff training, quality improvement activities, and program meetings
  • Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards at all times
  • Adapt to clinic schedules, dosing windows, and patient care needs
  • Perform other nursing duties as assigned to support medical operations

Requirements

  • Current licensure in the State of New Mexico as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or medical clinic settings preferred
  • Strong documentation, typing, and data entry skills; ten-key experience preferred
  • Willingness to train in State of the Heart Recovery's Electronic Health Record and medication management systems
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and strict confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety and accuracy
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with medical and clinical teams
