A Day in the Life of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
You play a vital role in our clinic. Without you, we would not be able to fulfill our purpose!
- Mindfully monitor residents' condition and needs
- Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders
- Maintain narcotic policies and procedures, monitor for side effects, and report any changes
- Oversee the nursing assistant-registered (NAR) staff to ensure resident care plans are followed
- Complete documentation and manage admission and discharge processes
- Inspect for bruises, skin tears, or neglect during care and report findings
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements
- Comply with facility policies and procedures
- Build positive relationships with residents, their families, visitors, and colleagues
Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure with the KS Board of Nursing
- CPR certification
- Confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Experience in medical, surgical, or geriatric nursing (preferred but not required)
- Trustworthiness and respectfulness towards others
- Dependability, professionalism, and teamwork
- Ability to establish rapport and effective communication
