Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and provides nursing care for residents
• Assigns nursing care to team members in accordance with the resident's needs and qualifications
• Supervises, directs, and evaluates junior staff members and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)
• Administers medications and performs treatments for assigned residents, and documents these actions
• Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel
• Counsels, disciplines, and terminates staff, to the extent permitted by state practice act
• Schedules and directs the nursing staff to the extent permitted by state practice act
• Maintains inventory and supplies on the unit and communicates needs for housekeeping, maintenance, or dietary assistance
• Performs other tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN school
• Valid LPN/LVN license in the state employed
• Valid CPR certification
• One year experience in nursing preferred

Pay

Starting wages range from $36.40 to $46.40 per hour, based on experience, shift, a $3.40/hr Michigan Direct Care Incentive, and a $5/hr weekend warrior program. Flexible pay options are available.
