About the role

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Jefferson City Health and Rehabilitation Center coordinates and provides nursing care for residents and supervises and guides clinical staff members.

Responsibilities

  • Documents the resident’s condition and nursing needs.
  • Accurately and promptly implements physicians’ orders.
  • Sets up nursing care for team members according to the resident's needs and their capabilities and qualifications.
  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates junior staff members and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
  • Administers medications and performs treatments for assigned residents, and documents these treatments as required by the company, local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
  • Ensures that supplies are used efficiently and equipment is clean and maintained safely.
  • Reports and records pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
  • Collaborates with other departments to coordinate nursing care for residents during therapy or procedures.
  • Interviews applicants and recommends hires.
  • Participates in counseling, disciplinary actions, and terminations of staff, to the extent permitted by state practice acts.
  • Schedules and directs the nursing staff to the extent permitted by state practice acts.
  • Maintains inventory and supplies on the unit and communicates the need for housekeeping, maintenance, or dietary assistance.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN school of nursing.
  • Valid LPN/LVN license in the state employed.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • One year experience in nursing preferred.

Pay

Starting wages range from $26.75 to $32.75 per hour, based on experience and shift.

Schedule
