Role Overview

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma collection operations by assessing donor eligibility, managing adverse events, reviewing lab results, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. They work under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician, providing medical and operational support, including emergency management and donor safety. Additionally, they assist with vaccination programs, employee incidents, and pandemic response efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Determine donor eligibility through medical history, physical exams, and testing.
  • Evaluate and manage donor reactions and emergencies following SOPs.
  • Refer complex medical issues to physicians or Medical Affairs.
  • Support vaccination and safety programs for staff.
  • Handle employee incidents and assist in pandemic investigations as authorized.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with nursing certification (LPN or LVN).
  • Valid state license, CPR/AED certification, and basic IV therapy requirements.
  • Minimum of two years clinical or hospital experience.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and safety protocols.
