We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our nursing team at Warren Center, in Warren, RI. As an LPN, you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to our residents and supervising the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to residents, including but not limited to feeding, bathing, dressing, and assisting with ambulation
- Supervise meals
- Make necessary doctor's appointments for residents if their care needs to be maintained outside of the facility
- Meet with family members regarding resident concerns and residents' plan of care
- Document all care provided in the resident's medical record
- Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants and lead by example
- Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to your unit/shift
- Complete and file required record-keeping forms/charts and chart nurse’s notes in a clear and descriptive manner
- Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with inter-departmental personnel and other departments within the facility
- Monitor and supervise assigned personnel to ensure compliance with established safety regulations and procedures
Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse with a current unencumbered state license (RI)
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities
- Current CPR Certification is required
Physical Demands
- Must be able to move intermittently through the workday
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
- Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift at minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
