Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient withdrawal, then execute appropriate medication detox protocols.
• Administer prescribed medications and provide patient education.
• Monitor and document the effects of medications; report and document errors (medication, pharmacy, packaging) and medication count concerns.
• Conduct ongoing assessments using COWS & CIWAS, re-prioritizing care based on the patient’s condition.
• Maintain accurate narcotic control inventories and documentation related to medication administration.
• Promote patient independence by establishing care goals, teaching patients about their condition, medications, and self-care requirements, and answering questions.
• Ensure quality care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, and following regulations set by the State Board of Nursing and other governing agencies.
• Resolve patient problems using multidisciplinary team strategies, including de-escalation techniques.
• Document patient care services in EMR and maintain continuity among teams by communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
• Participate in the onboarding of new nurses for medication administration.
• Communicate pertinent patient data and conduct medication counts at shift changes.
• Treat patients and colleagues with dignity and respect, maintaining strict confidentiality and supporting cultural diversity.
• Respond appropriately to emergency codes and adhere to attendance policies.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Current LPN License in the state of operations.
• LPN Diploma and State License required.
• Knowledge of drug and alcohol treatment preferred.
• Working knowledge of Google Products.
• Prolonged sitting at a desk and ability to lift 15 pounds at a time.
• Current LPN License, BLS, and AED certifications.

Pay

The estimated pay range for this position is $36.00 - $39.64 per hour, depending on skills, experience, education, and relevant qualifications. Placement within the upper portion of the range is reserved for candidates with several years of directly related experience or exceptional expertise.
