Licensed Practical Nurse - IDEA Parmer Park (26-27)

About the role

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides health services to students, conducts state-mandated screenings, maintains immunization compliance, and manages the campus clinic.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care utilizing professional triage skills, basic care, and established school health protocols.
• Manage campus clinic independently serving up to 1,600 students.
• Secure medical care for students in emergencies and make referrals as necessary.
• Ensure students comply with immunization requirements per state guidelines.
• Communicate with parents, teachers, and medical professionals regarding health services.
• Administer medications to students and compile, maintain, and file all required reports and records.
• Collaborate with other professionals to implement health-related IEP items.
• Make home visits to assist with student health problems with principal permission.
• Report potential health and safety hazards to the Assistant Principal of Operations.
• Maintain licensure and certifications as required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• LVN or LPN licensure.
• Certification in CPR/AED/First Aid.
• State-approved vision, hearing, spinal, and AN health screener certification (preferred).
• 2+ years’ experience in a health-related position.
• Experience with school-age children preferred.
• Experience maintaining electronic health records preferred.

• Proficient keyboarding and electronic file maintenance skills.
• Ability to use laptop and software to develop and populate databases and do word processing.
