Role Overview

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma collection operations by ensuring donor eligibility, managing adverse events, reviewing lab results, and notifying donors of unsuitable tests. The role involves collaborating with the Center Manager and Center Physician, adhering to industry regulations, and supporting environmental, health, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility through medical history, physical exams, and lab tests.
• Manage donor reactions and medical emergencies following SOPs and develop standing orders with the Center Physician.
• Refer complex medical or technical issues to physicians or Medical Affairs.
• Support vaccination programs and manage employee incidents per EHS guidance.
• Possibility to serve as Pandemic Coordinator and assist with community health investigations.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent; licensed or certified as LPN or LVN.
• CPR and AED certified.
• In-state IV therapy certification.
• Completed FDA training for Medical Support Specialist.
• At least two years of clinical or hospital experience.
