Licensed Practical Nurse Floater, Peds Neurosurgery Clinic

Responsibilities

• Triage calls and determine appropriate medical decision making.
• Demonstrate competency and accuracy in all work tasks.
• Courteously answer telephone and chart appropriately in EMR.
• Take complete and accurate messages as required.
• Absess the medical and nursing care rendered by self and others.
• Use appropriate Triage protocols via EMR to guide care.
• Fills in and assists other office staff members during absences or work overloads.
• Accurately completes nursing duties scheduled during the shift.
• Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and visitors.
• Assure delivery of quality patient care.
• Clearly explain therapy, tests, and treatments to patients and family members.
• Problem-solve situations and choose appropriate courses of action.
• Maintain a comfortable, orderly, safe, clean, and private patient care environment.
• Participate in orientation of new personnel.
• Establish and maintain good rapport with other office staff members.
• Greet patients, family members, and visitors in a friendly, courteous manner.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• Current Louisiana License as LPN.
• BLS Certification.
