Responsibilities

• Administer nursing care to patients under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse.
• Assist with treatments and procedures within the established nursing plan of care.
• Consistently take accurate vital signs.
• Accurately collect routine patient data per protocols or as directed by the clinical supervisor.
• Recognize high-risk situations and report them appropriately.
• Confer with the clinical supervisor routinely concerning the plan of care and make suggestions for referrals to other disciplines.
• Fulfill protocols or clinical guidelines in establishing workflow priorities.
• Demonstrate acceptable technical skills in providing care.
• Follow standards of care, established protocols, or clinical guidelines in providing patient care.
• Adhere to infection control policies in administering care.
• Provide patient care considering age-related requirements.
• Reinforce patient and family teaching.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with relevant unit policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate ability to accurately transcribe physician orders.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of computer skills relevant to the care area.
• Show initiative and flexibility with assignments.
• Function as a team member in carrying out assignments.

Requirements

• Current license to practice as a Practical Nurse in the State of New York.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to lift 20 lbs.

Pay

Pay Range: $23.85 - $29.95 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary based on location.
