About the role

The LPN will play a key role in supporting our physicians and ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients by performing casting, durable medical equipment tasks, and clinical duties related to patient care under the supervision of a physician.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing the patient for the exam by performing preliminary tests.
  • Reporting relevant information to the provider.
  • Assisting the provider with patient care as requested.
  • Obtaining cultures and collecting samples, including urine, saliva, and blood.
  • Performing scribe duties, as needed.
  • Reviewing treatment procedures with patients.
  • Assisting in ordering tests and retrieving results.
  • Reviewing discharge instructions.
  • Cast application, specialty cast, minor reductions/molding/suture/staple removal, and dressing changes.
  • Preparing injections and obtaining cultures as ordered or needed.
  • Dispensing Durable Medical Equipment (DME) to patients, applying DME, taking custom brace measurements, and ordering DME inventory.
  • Verifying patient information and recording medical history for the physician.
  • Demonstrating complete, accurate, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system.
  • Maintaining and safeguarding all patient records in compliance with practice policies and HIPAA.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Unrestricted current LPN license to practice nursing in NYS.
  • 1–3 years of recent experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
  • CPR certification preferred.

Travel between offices as needed; reliable transportation is required.
