*Licensed Practical Nurse - Behavioral Health
Overview
Founded in 1897, St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee, IL, is an 182‑bed facility that provides 24/7 specialty and emergency care, including advanced surgical treatments for critical injuries and illnesses. The hospital offers heart care, cancer treatment, stroke care, orthopedics, minimally invasive procedures using robotic‑assisted technology, comprehensive imaging and lab services—all on one campus. It is accredited as a Chest Pain Center by the American College of Cardiology, designated as a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission, and holds several orthopedic accreditations.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct and indirect patient care services requiring technical and manual skills within the scope of practice, meeting psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care and communication needs of the patient and family.
- Performs under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.
- IV certification and Blood Withdrawal (BW) certification within 90 days of hire date.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and must remain current.
- Work experience in health care preferred.

Pay
Compensation estimate for this role is $31 to $40 per hour (includes wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation). Exact starting compensation will be determined based on skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
Schedule
Nights, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m., part‑time, with rotating weekends and holidays.
Bonus
Sign‑On Bonus of $7,500 available for qualified candidates; eligibility and payout terms apply, details discussed during the interview process.
