About the role

This position is responsible for providing a wide range of patient care services in a family medicine setting. The role involves preparing patients for examinations, performing various medical procedures, administering medications, and educating patients about their health.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and rooms patients for examination by obtaining vital signs and updating health information.
  • Performs laboratory procedures using aseptic techniques and standard precautions.
  • Aids physicians in procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy tests, and wound care.
  • Administers medications under physician orders, including immunizations and insulin.
  • Communicates with patients about their care, including scheduling appointments and referrals.
  • Documents patient information accurately and communicates it to healthcare team members.
  • Performs advanced clinical tasks such as suturing, catheterization, and wound care.
  • Organizes and cleans exam and lab areas, ensuring proper equipment maintenance.
  • Communicates with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must hold a licensed practical nurse (LPN) license and have completed an accredited practical nursing program. No prior experience is required.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in computer skills, including keyboarding and electronic medical records systems
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as outlined

Skills

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills are essential. Proficiency in patient education and care coordination is also important.

Pay

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm.
