Full-time (1.0 FTE) day shift position located in Roswell, New Mexico.

Salary

Minimum $48,182 – Midpoint $60,233. Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience and is based on 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week). Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated accordingly.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• No minimum experience required; completed degrees above minimum education requirements may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Current LPN licensure with the New Mexico Board of Nursing or as allowed by reciprocal agreement.
• BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers (with hands-on training) must be obtained within 30 calendar days of hire.
• Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience providing nursing and/or case management services to medically and socially complex populations.
• Experience working with the LGBTQ+ community.
• Experience working in a community-based multidisciplinary setting.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient needs assessment; take vital signs and medical history; assist in triage, admission, transfer, and discharge processes; develop patient care goals.
• Administer medication and monitor results, including approved IV medications according to policy, via the Five Rights; document and communicate clinical findings.
• Perform treatments at the nursing level; assist medical staff with complicated procedures; follow up on diagnostic results.
• Orient new staff; participate in patient care conferences; participate in quality assurance activities.
• Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden, adverse developments in patients.
• Ensure maintenance of patient areas; assist in reception areas, as needed; ensure patient files include all diagnostic reports; document all patient care activities.
• Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes.
• Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk.
• Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors, and/or near misses in a timely manner.
• Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may "not seem right".
