Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is a highly specialized behavioral health system operated by the State of Minnesota. DCT operates treatment programs, residential and vocational services for people with serious mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, and more.
About the role
The Community Behavioral Health Hospital (CBHH) in Rochester has openings for talented Licensed Practical Nurses to join our team. Operated by Minnesota Direct Care & Treatment, the CBHH is a small inpatient psychiatric facility that provides rapid assessment and stabilization for adults experiencing an acute mental health episode.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing duties in caring for adults with acute to chronic and severe mental illness, including keeping clinical charts and reports on the emotional and physical status of patients.
- Facilitate the admission of patients to the unit; take temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure readings; administer and record prescribed medication.
- Promote and participate in rehabilitation activities and encourage patient personal hygiene.
- Maintain a clean, hazard-free environment and comply with all safety and health standards, laws, regulations, and policies.
Requirements
- Must possess or be eligible for license in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse.
- Future Practical Nurses who are within six (6) months of graduating and taking their NCLEX-LPN are encouraged to apply. Contingent job offers may be made upon successful completion of degree and passing of NCLEX-LPN.
Preferred Qualifications
- Patient care experience within a mental health setting.

- The Department of Human Services will conduct reference checks to verify job-related credentials and a criminal background check prior to appointment.
- Direct Care & Treatment (DCT) healthcare facilities require employees to provide documentation that they are free from tuberculosis (TB) through a blood test prior to employment. DCT does not accept TB skin testing.
Direct Care & Treatment (DCT) is unable to provide sponsorship for work visas. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States at the start of employment. DCT does not participate in E-Verify.
Pay
$28.01 - $35.83 / hourly
