Licensed Practical Nurse

About the role

AMG Specialty Hospital – Lafayette is seeking Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) for Day Shifts with LTAC experience. LPNs provide direct and indirect patient care services that meet the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care; meet the communication needs of patient and family; provide care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. They maintain regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards; communicate with physicians and team members about changes in patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology; respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment; and are able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care addressing psychosocial, physical, and general needs.
• Meet communication needs of patients and families.
• Maintain regulatory agency requirements and hospital policies, procedures, and standards.
• Communicate with physicians and team members about changes in patient’s clinical condition, including diagnostic study results and symptomatology.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
• Perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
• Work day shifts; weekend shifts eligible for shift differentials.

Requirements

• Current Louisiana LPN Licensure in good standing.
• Acute Care, Med‑Surg, Critical Care or ICU experience preferred.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic computer skills.
