Responsibilities

  • Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance the quality of service and care offered to patients and for respective provider(s)
  • Provide general care and education to patients in accordance with OSHA regulations
  • Avoid administering prescribed medications and treatments, including allergy shots, without direct or indirect supervision from a provider
  • Prepare necessary supplies for allergy testing and treatments
  • Perform lung function testing (FeNO and Spirometry) with and without bronchodilators
  • Avoid performing patch testing results and placing or removing patches without direction from an RN or provider
  • Maintain the immunotherapy room with necessary supplies and materials, ensuring cleanliness
  • Avoid administering allergy shots and ensuring a provider is on-site
  • Observe, record, and report patients' vitals and reactions to treatments
  • Avoid assessing patients' needs and suggesting solutions to patient care problems
  • Avoid supervising triaging of patient communications (through email and/or portal)
  • Avoid maintaining accurate patient records, documenting all visits in EMR
  • Avoid assuring patients stay for required observation time after injections
  • Avoid learning and performing immunotherapy vial mixing procedures and proper documentation in accordance with current regulations
  • Avoid reacting appropriately in patient reaction situations, informing physician and/or other clinical staff as necessary to mitigate adverse reactions
  • Avoid assisting providers in recording prescribed treatments, medications, lab requisitions, prescriptions, prior authorization (including biologics), and procedures within established guidelines
  • Avoid understanding provider to patient flow and anticipating provider’s next steps to the best of their ability
  • Avoid demonstrating clinical competence and sound knowledge base in the provision of quality patient care
  • Avoid ensuring allergy test sets and emergency kits are filled, current, and up to date
  • Avoid confirming that insurance benefits have been verified prior to the preparation of allergy serums
  • Avoid regularly interacting with physicians, other providers, and staff to identify and resolve problems
  • Avoid performing inventory responsibilities, including but not limited to, ordering and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested

Requirements

  • Previous Allergy experience preferred
  • Graduate from an LPN education program approved by the respective state Education Department
  • Pass the NCLEX-PN examination
  • Active LPN license in the state working in required
  • CPR and AED Certifications required
  • Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems
  • Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Excellent patient relations and customer service skills
  • Open availability to work during weekdays
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA & OSHA compliance

Qualifications

  • Previous Allergy experience preferred

  • Availability: Open availability to work during weekdays, working knowledge of HIPAA & OSHA compliance

Pay

  • Commensurate with experience

Schedule

  • Full time, 30+ hours
  • Availability Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays within operating hours of 7:00am - 7:30pm
  • Open Flexibility to help cover in a team environment is needed
