Starting pay is approximately $60,000 based on shift assignments.

About the Role

The position involves providing patient care as directed, documenting patient-related care, administering medications, performing treatments, assisting with doctor's sick call, managing chronic care clinics, participating in patient care planning and treatment team activities, responding to emergencies, and providing emergency care.

Responsibilities

  • Documents patient-related care timely within the electronic health record
  • Maintain patient medical records
  • Administers medication, including oral and intramuscular medications, may administer intravenous therapy if appropriately certified
  • Performs treatments
  • Affords assistance to doctors with medical procedures
  • Assumes duties of other nurses during absences
  • Observes, documents and provides nursing support to assistive personnel (i.e., nurse aides, psychiatric attendants, and/or patient care assistants)
  • Provides patient education regarding healthcare maintenance and prevention of disease
  • Participates in continuous quality improvement activities
  • Performs administrative duties
  • Attends meetings
  • Schedules multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Performs and/or assists with inventory and ordering of medical supplies
  • Assists ancillary staff including Health Information Technicians and medical schedulers as needed to ensure patient care needs are met

Requirements

  • License to practice nursing as a licensed practical nurse issued by Ohio Board of Nursing pursuant to Section 4723 Ohio Revised Code
  • MDS certification issued by ANNAC (i.e. American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination)
