Job Description

The work involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems across various departments to ensure the hospital operates safely and reliably.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain domestic water, sanitary, storm, and specialty plumbing systems.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plumbing infrastructure, piping systems, pumps, valves, fixtures, and associated mechanical equipment.
  • Install, modify, and repair plumbing systems in support of infrastructure improvements, renovation projects, and patient care needs.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot backflow prevention devices, emergency eyewash and shower stations, and other life safety plumbing systems.
  • Respond to plumbing failures, water leaks, drain obstructions, and facility emergencies while minimizing disruption to patient care.
  • Collaborate with fellow Facilities professionals to maintain a safe, reliable, and functional environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Document inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and testing while maintaining compliance with applicable plumbing codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Vermont Journeyman Plumber License, or the ability to obtain licensure within one year of employment.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot commercial or institutional plumbing systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize competing demands, and respond effectively during emergency situations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vermont Master Plumber License.
  • Experience in healthcare, commercial, industrial, institutional, or other complex facilities.
  • Experience with medical gas support systems, backflow prevention, pumps, and large-scale domestic water systems.

Pay

  • Hourly shift differential: $6.00/hr for Night Weekdays, $9.50/hr for Night Weekends.

Schedule

  • Tuesday through Saturday.
  • From 10:30pm to 07:00am.
