Responsibilities
- Applies physical therapy procedures to patients through use of therapeutic exercise, mechanical traction, therapeutic massage, compression, heat, cold, ultraviolet light, water (whirlpool), and electricity.
- Makes measurements without interpretation for range of motion, gross muscle strength, length and girth of body parts, and vital signs.
- Modifies treatment program within the limits of the specific plan of care according to the residents’ needs and response.
- Reports changes to the supervisor in writing.
- Communicates with staff members and other healthcare professionals on resident’s status and care.
- Complies with OSHA standards and ensures the safety of residents in their care at all times.
- Adheres to infection control policies, professional therapeutic services, and Community First Solution’s standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Prepares, transmits, and maintains timely and accurate records to include the initial evaluation, progress notes, and attendance records.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures of the organization and all federal and state laws regarding the privacy of protected health information.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures of the organization regarding the use of technology and technology-based information.
- Welcomes and onboards new employees.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
- Licenses or other required certifications: Current Ohio Physical Therapist Assistant License.
- Experience: At least three years’ experience, preferably in a long-term healthcare environment.
