About the Role

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) provides direct rehabilitation care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in skilled nursing facilities. They assist patients with long-term and short-term recovery, helping improve functional abilities and quality of life within a patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities

  • Follow prescribed physical therapy treatment plans
  • Chart patient progress accurately and timely
  • Utilize therapy software effectively
  • Provide excellent patient customer service with a positive attitude
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
  • Ensure safety protocols and patient rights are upheld
  • Participate in community health initiatives as appropriate
  • Assist in patient evacuation when necessary
  • Implement and monitor therapy plans
  • Maintain documentation
  • Demonstrate dependability
  • Uphold safety and patient rights

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program (ASPT)
  • Active licensure or registration in the relevant state
  • CPR certification (obtained upon hire or during orientation)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
  • Strong communication, judgment, and body mechanics
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance policies
