About the role

The Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish LensCrafters as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community. You will create exceptional value in the lives of customers by delivering legendary customer service and perfectly crafted, high-quality eyewear that exceeds expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome all customers and set clear expectations.
  • Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
  • Act as a leader in optical acumen, taking and recording measurements, accurately adjusting and fitting eyewear.
  • Ensure finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
  • Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
  • Use technology accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and customer volume; demonstrate exceptional product knowledge and appropriate tool use.
  • Proactively explore root causes of issues, ensure customer satisfaction, and exceed expectations with solution-driven approaches.
  • Multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively with competing priorities.
  • Strive to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies.
  • Maintain store appearance, keeping it clean, attractive, and organized.
  • Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • State licensure for optical dispensing.
  • Optical dispensing experience.
  • Strong customer service skills: communication, listening, and teamwork.
  • Knowledge of current store merchandise and awareness of fashion trends.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Selling skills with ability to use an iPad/tablet.
  • Familiarity with POS systems, computers, and calculators.
  • Embrace new technology and change.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous customer service and retail experience.

Pay

Starting pay for this role is $35.76 per hour. Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. You may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan.
