The Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish Target Optical as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community. Responsibilities

• Welcome all customers and set expectations.
• Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
• Act as a leader in optical acumen.
• Take and record measurements, accurately adjust/fit eyewear with attention to detail, and ensure finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
• Assist team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
• Use technology accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and customer volume; demonstrate exceptional product knowledge and use of appropriate tools.
• Proactively explore root causes of issues, ensure customer satisfaction, and exceed expectations with a solution-driven approach.
• Multitask, prioritize, and manage time with competing priorities.
• Strive to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies.
• Maintain store appearance: keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
• Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• State licensure for optical dispensing.
• Optical dispensing experience.
• Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder.
• Knowledge of current store merchandise.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Awareness of current fashion trends.
• Selling skills – ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet.
• Familiarity with POS systems, computers, and calculators.
• Embrace new technology and change.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service and retail experience.

Pay

$22.93 - $35.76 per hour. Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. You may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan.
