Day-to-day responsibilities include interpreting prescriptions, advising guests on lens and frame options, and ensuring proper fitting, measurement, and adjustment of eyewear. The role involves educating guests on lens technologies, coatings, and product benefits, while maintaining high standards for accuracy, safety, and compliance with state and company policies. The Licensed Optician collaborates with store leadership and eye care professionals to support eye exams, coordinate follow-up services, and contribute to an outstanding guest experience. Additional duties include supporting sales goals, maintaining product displays, and helping create a welcoming, inclusive environment for all guests.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong knowledge of optics, including lens types, materials, and fitting techniques.Candidates should possess experience in optometry-related settings, collaborating with eye care professionals and supporting eye exams.Candidates should possess skills in customer service and customer satisfaction, with a focus on delivering an exceptional, personalized guest experience.Candidates should possess familiarity with eye exams and vision care processes, including documentation and follow-up coordination.Valid state optician license in Connecticut (or eligibility to obtain, as required by state regulations).Ability to perform precise measurements, adjustments, and repairs of eyeglasses and sunglasses.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a retail team environment.Comfort with basic point-of-sale systems and retail operations; prior optical or retail experience is beneficial.Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and guest-focused environment for individuals of all backgrounds.
