- Complies with ethical, regulatory, procedural and professional standards and practice guidelines as defined by state of licensure.
- Affords assistance to the Occupational Therapist in providing occupational therapy treatments to residents as determined by the Plan of Care as directed by the OT.
- Manages caseload with supervisor by scheduling treatment individually or in groups while maintaining efficiency expectations.
- Instructs resident, family, and caregivers in OT procedures to be continued upon discharge.
- Adheres to PPS guidelines, ensures all OT documentation/treatment conforms to documentation/billing policies and procedures.
- Provides oversight and direction to technicians and assists in the supervision and education of affiliated students.
- Affirms the sanitation, orderliness, and absence of safety hazards in the physical surroundings and equipment.
- Maintains resident confidentiality and privacy.
- Fosters feelings of self-worth and respect by treating residents with kindness and understanding.
- Knows and complies with Residents’ Bill of Rights.
- Reports all grievances and resident complaints to administrator and/or Director of Nursing immediately.
- Reports any incident involving rehab staff to RVP immediately.
Ability to lift/move fifty (50) pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods Fine motor skills Visual acuity Maintains own professional competence as well as learning new creative trends in OT treatment through participation in continuing education, seminars and training programs. Attends all mandatory in-services.
